To strengthen our digitalization team, we are looking for a committed individual to join us at our headquarters in Freiburg as a System Engineer – Digitalization (m/f/d).
Your role with us
As a System Engineer – Digitalization (m/f/d), you will shape the digital future of industrial production processes. You will work with our KRIS digitalization platform, which collects, visualizes, and analyzes production and process data in real time. In your role, you will connect data from machines, controllers, and OT systems with higher-level IT and management systems. KRIS serves as a central platform that consolidates and contextualizes process data and makes it usable via various industrial apps. You will support our customers across the entire automation pyramid and ensure that isolated machine data is transformed into reliable, value-adding information that enables operational excellence and data-driven decisions.
Your Tasks
- Installation and configuration of our KRIS digitalization platform at the customer's site
- Setup of industrial data acquisition: connection of control systems, machines, and OT systems
- Setup and operation of KRIS modules (e.g., trend system, logs, energy management, recipe management)
- Setup and expansion of secure, scalable IT infrastructures for KRIS (servers, virtualization, network)
- Configuring dashboards, visualizations, and analysis functions
- Integrating KRIS systems into existing IT and ERP landscapes
- Supporting customers in digitization projects across the entire automation pyramid
- Carrying out commissioning and technical workshops on site
- Actively contributing to the further development of digital solutions related to KRIS
Your Profile
- Degree in computer science, automation technology, process engineering, or training in an IT profession
- Experience in IT/OT infrastructure projects (Microsoft Server, virtualization, networks)
- Enthusiasm for digitalization, data platforms, and Industry 4.0 topics
- Knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
- Process data acquisition, OT communication, interfaces
- Virtualization (VMware, Hyper V)
- IT networks, firewalls
- Data management & analysis
- Process engineering, e.g., paper technology or energy generation
- Independent, structured way of working and enjoyment of customer contact
- Very good German skills, good English skills desirable
